Ageing is a physiological and psychological process causing an imbalance that changes the structure and function of the body from adulthood onward. It is caused by two major factors; the premature death of our cells caused by aggression and the decrease in their renewal. Advances in science have made it possible to understand the mechanisms of aging, and we now have the means to act positively on each of the protagonists of this imbalance.
Ageing is no longer a fatality and the mastery of science is no longer limited to the search for molecules to cure our diseases, but scientific innovation is to cure the effects of ageing in order to anticipate the onset of diseases and increase life expectancy in good health.
"Slowing down the ageing process and even reversing it is what medicine promises us in the years to come."
